What's free, and what do I pay for?
Tracking by hand is free, with no time limit and no card: add accounts and transactions yourself or import a CSV, and keep your budgets, goals and your net worth. The subscription covers two things: connecting a bank or brokerage so your balances and transactions update themselves, and AI categorization for synced and imported transactions your rules leave uncategorized.
Is my bank supported?
Mozaic connects to US banks and card issuers through Plaid, including Chase, Bank of America, Wells Fargo, Citibank, Capital One and Ally, and to US brokerages through SnapTrade, including Fidelity, Charles Schwab, Vanguard, Robinhood and E*TRADE. If yours isn't available yet, or a connection is temporarily down, you can track that account manually or import a CSV, and tell us so we prioritize it.
Which US account types does Mozaic recognize?
401(k), IRA, Roth IRA, HSA and 529 accounts come in as their own account types when you connect the brokerage or bank that holds them, next to checking, savings, credit cards, brokerage accounts, mortgages and loans. Mozaic doesn't track IRS contribution limits for these accounts.
Can I see everything in US dollars?
Yes. Pick USD as your base currency and every total is stated in US dollars. An account held in another currency, a Canadian bank account for example, is converted at the daily exchange rate, refreshed every business day, and you can flip any account to view its native currency.
Where is Mozaic based, and where is my data stored?
Mozaic Finance Inc. is a Canadian company, based in Québec. Your financial account data is stored in Canadian data centers, under Canadian privacy law. US banks and brokerages connect through Plaid and SnapTrade with read-only access: Mozaic can't move your money or see your banking password.
What happens when the trial ends?
If you stay on Premium, your card is charged for the plan you chose and your banks keep updating themselves. If you cancel before it ends, nothing is charged and nothing is deleted: you move to the free plan, where your accounts, history, budgets and goals stay put and you keep adding to them by hand. Only automatic syncing stops. The trial starts when you connect your first bank or brokerage, which is when we ask for a card, and we email you three days before it ends.
