01 · Connect
Link your banks and brokerages, read-only
You start by connecting an account. Canadian bank accounts link through Plaid, brokerage accounts link through SnapTrade, and anything an aggregator cannot reach you add as a manual account. Each connection uses the institution's own sign-in, so Mozaic never sees your banking password. Every link is read-only: it can see balances, holdings, and transactions, but it cannot move money or place a trade.
The first sync does the setup for you. It pulls current balances, the individual holdings inside each brokerage account, and up to the last couple of years of transactions, so the picture is filled in from the start rather than beginning at zero on the day you signed up.
02 · Aggregate
Every account under one roof, in one currency
Once accounts are connected, Mozaic brings them together. A TFSA reads as a TFSA and an RRSP as an RRSP rather than a generic bucket, because the registered account types are first-class, with the contribution-room rules built in. Cash, non-registered investments, crypto, credit cards, loans, and mortgages all take their place, and the debts pull the total down where they should.
Currencies are reconciled for you. You pick a base currency, which defaults to Canadian dollars, and every account is converted into it before it is summed. A US-dollar account still shows its native currency on its own card, and the conversion only happens at the consolidated line, using the current exchange rate.

03 · See your net worth
One number, a trend line, and the story underneath
The result sits at the top of your dashboard: net worth as one figure, recomputed on the server every time an account syncs, with the contributing accounts broken out by type underneath. You can see at a glance how much of the total is registered, how much is cash, how much is invested, and how much is offset by debt.
A daily snapshot turns that figure into a trend line you can read over a week, a month, a year, or your full history, and you can backfill the period before you signed up with manual snapshots. Alongside it, your transactions are categorized automatically so your cash flow is grouped without hours of manual sorting.

What to look at before you connect anything
Two questions usually come first. Which institutions can I actually connect, and how safe is it to link them? Both have plain answers. The supported institutions page is the current list of banks and brokerages, kept close to what the aggregators support, and the security page lays out the read-only connections, the encryption, and where your data is stored. When you are ready, the pricing page has the plan and the 14-day free trial.
