Deleting your account

You can delete your account yourself from Settings > Privacy & Data > Manage Your Data. You choose between a scheduled deletion, which gives you 30 days to change your mind, and an immediate one.

Before you start

• Export your data first. Deletion can't be undone, and the export gives you CSV files of your accounts, transactions, holdings, budgets, goals and more. The deletion dialog offers an Export My Data First button.
• Think about your subscription. A scheduled deletion keeps your subscription until the account is actually deleted, 30 days later. If you don't want to be billed again in the meantime, cancel it first in Settings > Profile > Subscription > Manage Subscription.

Delete your account

You'll be asked to choose one of two options:

• Schedule Deletion (30 days): your account is deactivated now and permanently deleted in 30 days. You can cancel anytime during that period.
• Delete Immediately: everything is deleted right away.

1. Go to Settings > Privacy & Data > Manage Your Data.
2. On the Delete Account card, select Delete Account.
3. Read the warnings, then pick Schedule Deletion (30 days) or Delete Immediately.
4. Answer What made you leave? by picking a reason. An answer is required to continue.
5. Select Schedule Deletion, or Yes, Delete Everything Now for an immediate deletion. For an immediate deletion, Mozaic asks you once more to confirm.

What gets deleted

• Your sign-in account, including any two-factor authentication methods
• Your accounts, transactions, holdings, debts, assets, budgets, goals and net worth history
• Your bank and brokerage connections: access through Plaid and SnapTrade is revoked
• Your subscription, which is cancelled when the deletion takes effect

Change your mind during the 30 days

1. Sign in to Mozaic as usual. This reactivates your account.
2. Go to Settings > Privacy & Data > Manage Your Data.
3. On the Cancel Deletion card, select Cancel Deletion and confirm.

The scheduled deletion is cancelled. After the 30 days, the deletion is final and nothing can be recovered.

Automatic deletion of inactive free accounts

If you're on the free plan and don't sign in for 12 months, your account is deleted automatically. We don't do this without warning: we email you about 30 days and again 7 days before. Signing in at any time resets the 12 months.

These warning emails are sent even if you turned off marketing emails.
