Stop syncing, disconnect or delete an account
The difference between stopping one account's sync, disconnecting a bank and deleting an account, and what happens to your saved data in each case.
Updated
Mozaic has no separate "hide" switch. Instead, you choose how far to go: stop one account from updating, disconnect a whole bank, or delete an account. All three start from the account panel: click the account on the Accounts page, then open the ⋯ menu (Quick Actions).
Stop syncing one account
Use this when a bank connection brings in an account you don't want updated, for example an old savings account, while the others keep syncing.
- In the ⋯ menu, click Stop syncing this account.
- Choose what happens to what is already saved (the two options are explained below).
- Click Confirm. You see Account removed from sync.
The two options:
- Keep the account and its history: it stays in your list with its last known balance and past transactions. It just stops updating.
- Delete it permanently: removes the account and everything saved with it (transactions, holdings and history). This cannot be undone.
If you keep it, the row then shows Not syncing. Stop syncing this account appears only on a working connected account that shares its connection with at least one other active account. For the last account of a connection, disconnect the bank instead. A manual account can't be excluded; delete it.
Disconnect a bank or brokerage
This ends the connection for every account under it.
- In the ⋯ menu, click Disconnect [bank name].
- Under Choose what happens to your data, pick one of the three options below.
- Under Review what happens, then confirm, check the counts of what is affected.
- Click Disconnect.
The three options:
- Keep my data: accounts become read-only. Nothing is deleted.
- Delete after 90 days: a grace period; the data can be restored within 90 days.
- Delete immediately: permanently deletes all accounts, transactions and holdings.
Disconnecting is done from the account panel only, not from Settings.
Delete an account
Delete account appears in the ⋯ menu for manual accounts, and for connected accounts that are broken, no longer syncing or no longer attached to a connection. Mozaic asks you to confirm, because this cannot be undone. You then see Account deleted.
