The setup wizard and checklist
What the setup wizard asks when you first sign in, which steps you can skip, and how the Getting started checklist tracks what is left.
Updated
After your first sign-in, Mozaic walks you through a short setup wizard. It sets your language, currency and privacy choices, helps you add a first account, and suggests goals and budgets. Some steps can be skipped; the wizard itself can't.
How the wizard works
A counter at the top shows where you are, for example Step 3/12. The total depends on your answers. Use Back to return to an earlier step.
Your progress is saved as you go. If you close the tab, you pick up at the same step next time you sign in.
What it asks
- Welcome: choose your Language, then select Get Started.
- Preview: a quick look at what Mozaic shows. Select Continue.
- How did you hear about Mozaic? You can Skip this one.
- Who do you bank with? Pick one or more banks. Your picks show up first when you connect later.
- What matters most right now? Pick one aim, such as buying a home or paying off debt.
- When do you want to get there? Optional.
- Your plan: Mozaic shows a plan based on your answers. Select Save my plan.
- Trust: how Mozaic handles your data. Connections are read-only: Mozaic can't move your money. Select Got it.
- Privacy: four checkboxes. Data collection and Third-party sharing are required to continue; Analytics and Setup tips and product updates are optional. Select Agree and Continue. If you select Decline & sign out, you're signed out.
- Currency: Mozaic guesses your currency from your region. Select Looks right, pick another with More currencies, or skip.
- Add an account: connect a bank or brokerage, or add an account by hand. See the next section.
- Your first number: once an account is in, Mozaic shows your total.
- Goals and budgets: pick suggested goals and budgets, or select Maybe later. The budget step appears only if you have a non-investment account.
- Categories: Mozaic shows its guess for one of your transactions. Select Looks right or It’s something else.
- Weekly recap: choose Yes, send it or No recap for me.
- Done: select Open my dashboard.
If you chose separating business money as your aim, an extra step offers a separate business ledger.
The account step
You can add an account two ways:
- Connect account: link a bank or brokerage. Your trial covers this.
- Add manually: choose Cash or bank account, or Property or valuables for a home, car or other item.
The continue button stays off until at least one account or asset exists. If you'd rather do it later, select I'll do this later. You can add accounts any time from Accounts.
The Getting started checklist
After the wizard, a Getting started card sits in the bottom-right corner of the app. It shows how many items are done, for example 2 of 4 done, and each row takes you to the right page:
- Connect an account
- Review your transactions
- Create a budget
- Create a goal
- Separate business money (only if you chose that aim)
Rows tick themselves once the real thing exists. Connect an account is ticked only by a bank or brokerage connection, not by a manual account.
The card goes away once every row is done. To hide it earlier, select Don't show again.
